TU Dublin

Ireland’s first technological university, TU Dublin, was founded on January 1st, 2019, although its history dates to 1887, when the City of Dublin Technical Schools, Ireland’s first technical education institution, merged with the Dublin Institute of Technology. With 28,500 students, it is the second-largest third-level school in Ireland.
The university was created by combining three already-existing technical institutes in the Dublin region: Dublin Institute of Technology, Institute of Technology, Blanchardstown, and Institute of Technology, Tallaght, and assuming all their roles and responsibilities. It is the fourth university in County Dublin and the ninth overall in Ireland. The institution promotes an entrepreneurial attitude and a strategy that is industry-focused, working closely with business on many research projects.
